Easy Run for 24 May?
« on: May 21, 2009, 09:47:16 PM »
Hi,

New member and new to GA. I have some family going into town and would like to take them out on a mild trail run in my modified ZJ on Sunday 24 May. Any suggestions, something with a few challenges, but nothing too serious, will have our boys with us.

Beasley is about what you want then. Just hill climbs mainly, little rock.
I've grown tired of this.

OK here it is and here is my disclaimer... This is not an all day place, this is not hard (did it all in a stock Rubicon without the lockers) and i Have not been in a year so things may have changed some.

Map:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Nimblewill+Gap+Rd&daddr=Nimblewill+Gap+Rd+to:Old+Bucktown+Rd+to:34.585736,-84.236469&hl=en&geocode=FYB9DwIdku_7-g%3BFcQVEAIdTv36-g%3BFWFfEAIdk576-g%3B&mra=mi&mrcr=2&mrsp=3&sz=14&sll=34.589411,-84.229259&sspn=0.030101,0.053558&ie=UTF8&ll=34.595911,-84.190292&spn=0.120394,0.214233&z=12

Trails:
Point A to B = gravel road, runs along a creek at the bottom with some pull of spots, then winds up the mountain: 2wd
Point B to C = down hill, some parts are tame, some have some serious natural erosion so they have trenches all through them: 4wd some
Point B to D = going back up hill towards the park. Some rocks, some legal side roads (the legal ones will be obvious, the illegal ones are obvious too): 4wd some

STAY ON THE DAMN TRAILS! The neighbor system Anderson Creek was closed last year after it was closed for assessment for 3 years by the FS. Want to guess their reason? Heavy erosion due to 4wd vehicles driving off the roads and creating their own paths...
