well i have been thinking about this for about this for a while now. Well ever since i found out i was going to be a dad. Well my son is 4 months old now so i guess if im going to build it i need to get started.
Heres the idea:

Take a power wheels jeep body cut it up like a rock crawler (comp cut flat fenders ect ect)
build a custom frame set up with 4 link
build a custom set of soli axles with low gear high torque motors monted on them
for tires i would use a set of beach cooler tires (they have locking beads are very soft and can run very low a/p)
get a set of some small air shocks (like the ones on a storm door)
build a custom rollcage
use a car battery for the motors
 
what do u think? Should i do it or just leave it as an idea

i have toyed with the idea of building one also, except with a weedeater/chainsaw motor.  i would wait it out a little though since the little one is only 4 months, let him get the concepts of driving it down in stock form then mod it out.
