Looking for TJ, The Pre Owned Store??
« on: October 24, 2010, 02:55:27 PM »
well im looking for a tj to serve as a dd, and my girls wheeling rig. i dont want to buy a modded one, and im leaning more towards the 4.0 as it will get modded later on down the road. i really like the sahara models, and want a soft top and a/c for the baby. but i saw alot of jeeps for sale at The Pre Owned Store "preowned jeep specialists" in cartersville. anybody know anythinf about this place? i dont want to buy a pile of junk, and i do know jeeps arent the most reliable rig anyways. http://www.thepreownedjeepstore.com/

my plans are to get some 3/4" front spacers, rock sliders, bumpers and put my 30" wild country's off my bronco on it so i can upgrade to 33's

anyone else know of another place to buy a good jeep?  ill be getting serious in the next couple of months, would like one under 100k miles, and dont want to spend more then 10k cash(ill do bank financing with my dad for low interest rates)

Their prices seem high to me.  You would be better off buying it from someone else.

They have a bad reputation from everything I've heard over the last few years.  Prices seem high, and they really shine up a "well" used Jeep to look like a Cherry.

There are enough Jeeps available from individuals on Craigslist and Auto trader that I would not consider buying from a dealer.

Should save some money too.  Your time spent searching every day for the right one will pay off.

Easy to look for signs of wheeling, only takes a couple of minutes under the rig.

That's a scam.  Just send money!  lol.

Hello,
Thanks for being interested in buying my jeep ,I will start my email by telling you that I'm currently out of country so pick up isn't an option , It's in excellent condition and runs like perfect, It has never been involved in any kind off accident, and it has got no mechanical problems, clean title and it was always garaged .
Right now I'm in the United Kingdom, just arrived here 3 days ago . Before i left I found a buyer and i had everything arranged.I payed for the shipping and sent it to him .But yesterday the buyer that i had asked me to wait another 4 weeks because his loan wasn't approved . so i just canceled the deal ..I can't wait this long as i am in the UK for 3 days now and i really need the money, I am in the moving process , changing the work place and everything ...A major issue is that if you want to buy my jeep you really need to have the money ready for it.
The vehicle and its documents are in the shipping auto company waiting to be delivered to the next buyer. The transaction will be made only through eBay. eBay will be the third party that will hold the money till you will receive and inspect the jeep. This purchase protection guarantees that the jeep is exactly as I described; basically, once delivered, you'll have 10 working days to inspect it at your home and if you decide not to keep it you will get refunded in no time and they will charge me with the return costs. If the jeep meets your expectations and you want to keep it you will have to tell them to release me the payment details so I can get paid.If you are interested in this purchase please reply me with your full name and shipping address so ebay can contact you regarding the payment and shipping process.

More details about my jeep :
Mileage: 55,500 miles
Engine: 4.0L, 6 - Cyl. Cylinder
Exterior color: Blue
Interior color: Black
Transmission: Automatic
Fuel type: Gasoline
Very nice 2005 Wrangler Rubicon. Patriot Blue Pearl, with a dark Khaki factory soft top. (the top is complete and in excellent shape, I left the side windows and door uppers off so you could see more). 55,500 miles, automatic, A/C, tilt, cruise. Clean Car-fax report, no accidents or damage. The Rubicon package comes from the factory with front and rear air lockers and a 4 to 1 low range transfer case. Excellent for those slow offroad trips!! We've had her offload only twice, no mud, only forest service roads here in the mountains. All the running gear is stock except for a 2 inch Tera-Flex spacer lift to clear the slightly larger tires. The Jeep has a grill guard and a winch mounting plate already in place. The Jeep also comes with the factory rear seat, although it is not shown in any of the pics. Excellent tires with only 5000 miles on them. I just did a 5 tire rotation so the right rear has just been put on the ground. The oil has just been changed and the AC is very cold!! The Jeep also has the factory overhead speaker/light pod, and a sub-woofer in the console. Here's your chance to pick up an extra nice, top of the line Rubicon that's ready to go.

P.S : If you need more details,or pics just ask.
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks Ruddy

I think the crazier scammers are those that act as though they are buying cars off craigslist, send a fake cashiers check, and get people to use the difference to setup shipping of the vehicle.

Back in 2005, when I was search for my current Jeep, I saw an ad on cars.com for a 2004 Wrangler Sport.  The guy had pictures and everything.  Very nice looking Jeep with no visible damage at all.  He had the Jeep listed for $4000.  I emailed him a couple times trying to set up a meeting to go see this thing since $4000 seemed a little to good too be true.  Well, maybe a lot too good to be true.  I really expected to hear it was a typo and the guy wanted $14,000 at least.  Every response was the same.

"The price is $4000.  The Jeep is in excellent condition and runs an drives perfectly.  I lost my job and must sell immediately.  Send me the money and I will have the Jeep delivered to you"

It was fairly obvious, after the first response, this was a scam, but I played along for a little while.

After a couple weeks, I did a nationwide search for a 2004 Jeep Wrangler for under $5000 on cars.com.  It came back with 5 different ads of the same exact Jeep in 5 different states.  I notified cars.com and they removed the ads.

Not all scams are this obvious, but beware when searching online.  And yes, I still believe searching online is the way to go when looking for a used vehicle.
