Scrap an axle?
« on: December 15, 2010, 11:09:57 AM »
I was thinking about doing a disc brake conversion on my XJ's rear 8.25.  Supposedly you can use all the hardware from a ZJ and do the conversion pretty easily.  I found a guy on Craigslist parting a zj but he doesn't want to separate the brakes from the axle.  If I bought the whole axle, got the brakes off, is the axle worth anything for scrap?  It's a D35 with 3.73s.

sell the carrier and r&p. Guys look for 3.73s.
I've grown tired of this.

Did I get your 3:73's from your 30 or 35? Because I would still be looking for the other.

I'll have to check also, but I might be interested in gears out of the 35 Seth. If so I would like to pull it because I would like to run a pattern on them for reset purpose.

Mark,
Someone might be buying my control arms tomorrow.  If that deal goes down, I'm going to try to get that axle.  I'll make you a good deal on the gears.

I'll let you know if I need them, not real sure on what gears I have in the shop.
