Who knows Tablets?

Not really an Apple fan so no Ipad, but we want the same features.

We have a Nook that has Droid software but no movie watching or much memory.

So we want the best deal for the girls and to have around the house and on trips that is fast, and can play angry birds lol, browse the internet, watch movies, play avi files, etc.

What do you guys have knowledge and experience with, and recommend?  Obviously price is a factor since we need at least 2.

I looked at just about everyone made, when i got mine. I went with the Toshiba thrive. The thing I liked better was that it had all of the ports on it (usb, hdmi, mini usb, & SD card slot)
I've had it for about 2 months and love it !!

iPad is useless... no offense to anyone who has it but a tablet that you are suppose to surf the net with is a pointless tablet if it doesn't support flash. I dont care about battery life, processor speed, cameras, nothing unless it has flash on it. I am ok with my iPhone not having flash, I don't surf on my iPhone. I bought the first iPad when it came out, had it for a month and then sold it. Thanks to my generation of iZombies I was able to sell it for the price of a new 1 just because it was still sold out everywhere.

Keep in mind I am a nerd so I don't mind playing with things. If it were a toy for my kids I'd probably just buy something made to do what I want already.

The mountain was only 2 miles from the Sheiks Construction homebuilders job site by the Camelback Subdivision I lived in..I was glad to assist after seeing poor Moses through my telescope standing there wondering... {ehm} ??? just how am I going to do this without breaking these?

I think I need to come out of retirement, I'm spending too much time on this computer!... {boohoo}
