Oil pan skid, evap skid? If your oil pan gets a hole in it your day is over. From what I have read if you yank off the evap canister the jeep goes into limp mode. Woukd suck getting home

Yes. Take off the old, there is usually an allen bolt holding the end of the line. Put on the new line, spool under load. Steel cable isn't all that bad... You have to be a little smarter with it and make sure you don't kink it and such but if I had to pick between syn winch line and skids to keep my jeep running mon-fri I would pick skids.

Heck I wont lie... I ran the Rancho skid on both of my JK's. Its the one that you have to basically glue to the oil pan... While it still doesn't protect the drain plug it took some decent licks and didn't fall off so it was worth the $100 or so I spent. I see a skid row engine skid on there for $309 and a rugged ridge for $231

I always keep some sonic weld (2 part putty) in my bag just in case some like that happens.  I came down right on the drain plug in Coppingers Cove and K.O the plug and pan. 2 or 3 years later the sonic weld is still holding up fine and I still need to change oil pans.  :hlp

Met my future wife in traffic this morning on my way to work, she doesn't know it yet though. I caught her taking cellphone pics of my jeep. If anyone sees, please tell her I am looking for her. Hot blonde in a jeep compass with an Auburn sticker on the back.
