Part of me hates taxes, i know they have a place, but, my concern is that , yes they tend to never go away, i wish they would better spend the $$ they get now.

they take to much of my $$ as it is.   i would rather go to a fair tax of some kind, or a useage tax. i hate taxing my income, i would be more open to this if my
taxes where lower..  Dam government  //no//

Do recognize the tax will likely never go away.

in Gwinnett, it is a renewel request, so yes...they tend to stick around.  However, both Cobb County and Gwinnett have both voted to end SPLOST's at one time or another.

Tony, do you recall what year a SPLOST was taken away from Cobb County?

Taxes suck. If they want to tax us, put it on beer, cigs, gas and luxury items. Let me have a choice in where my money goes. Let me have my paycheck 100%. I can drive on dirt roads  //;D//
I've grown tired of this.

I voted for SPLOST each time since at least the money raised goes to local improvements; and I tend to spend money here rather than going elsewhere.  Other than a misguided proposal to double-lane Castleberry Road, I've been happy with every SPLOST project here in Forsyth.  We did have a dispute with the city of Cumming over their fair share;  I'm not sure that 8000 city residents deserved 40% of the proceeds vs. the other 170,000 county residents, but they did work out something in the end.

Add in sex and gambling...and actually allow them, and I will agree even more!  Some may consider those luxury items, so they may be covered already. :)

I do think gas tax should cover roads...my jeep and truck are ok on the dirt roads...not the other car.

Hit Chick Fil A this morning with Hayden, dropped him off at school and then hit the road to the office. The sun was shining, I was rocking some tunes, had a nice big, hot cup of Chick Fil A coffee... Note the past tense of "had" a big cup of coffee.

Spilled damn near the whole cup on me and all in my car. I think I may have shorted out the whole motor.

Turned around and went back home. Took me an hour to clean it all up.

Dang Tony. What is the deal with you and miss treating your vehicles. Killing the Trans in your jeep was just not enough for you? :D
