Just did this yesterday myself, what stabilizer did you get?

the cheap version, danny had one that was beef'er than the stock. dont recall the name, maybe he knows but the shock part is def. larger than stock.

Why not do a TRE flip if your going through the trouble of replacing it? That would keep it from getting beat up as much.

Not sure what a TRE flip is?

2.5" is not enough to require it really as the track bar and drag link would not be parallel.

3.5" is the first JK lift to really require it, and the Rk kit includes a raised track bar mount for excellent alignment.

Kent, look at your drag link, it goes in from underneath the knuckle.  When you flip it, you drill it out and insert a bushing and install it from the top.  The alignment is important so that the axle moves up and down without transferring energy into the drag link and the steering wheel called bump steer.

Wait..isn't the TRE the Tie Rod End?  I think Tripp is wondering why the tie rod wasn't flipped to the top side of the knuckle connection...thus keeping it out of additional danger.

No can flip jk tie rod on stock jk knuckle. Not enough room, even if you flip the drag link.

TRE is Tie Rod End. Which is also on each end of the drag link.

Edit Tony beat me to it.

It won't fit on stock jk knuckles.  You can see in the photo there is no room below the flipped drag link.  You can buy new dedenbear knuckles that do move it up.

Can you use offset TRE's if you have enough BS on your wheels? Or will it physically not fit?

Take a look at the photo.  The drag link tre nut is where the tie rod would be if it were flipped.

I was talking about taking the tie rod and flipping it on the top side of the knuckle and not messing with the drag link. I know that can be done on a TJ so I ASSumed there was the same ability on a JK.

If the drag link is messed with, the track bar needs to be in the same manner. If not, you screw with the Ackerman angle which in return causes bump steer like you stated.
