Maybe hook was looped over something (axle, bull bar) and hooked back to the cable?

That or maybe the dring or whatever it was attached to broke?

I know we all have to make choices on how we spend our money but I really hope every GATR member decides to run synthetic or switches to synthetic. I never thought I'd have a winch rope snap and when mine snapped last week I was shocked.  Since it was synthetic though it just went limp and didn't violently snap back at anyone.

Don yours was the third winch line I have seen break on GATR rides. All th others were synthetic and had the same result, just dropped straight down.

That's what happened with mine...I'm sure AJ was happy I had synthetic!  AJ was watching when mine broke, I believe.

Any broken cable?  Seriously.

I'm all in for rope. But a broken rope in a bad spot could be as bad as broken cable flying around for the person in the Jeep.

We can do it again if some want to.  I'll need to use the prices with them.  I'll be in China next week.

Can also do led lights stinkin cheap.

of the ones that broke, I know Scott and Jay keep theirs in a garage.

I keep mine in the garage and have yet to brake a rope.  I don't cover it when it is outside.
