Keep an offline backup.  Newer ransomware specifically looks for and targets connected backups.
Would something like carbonite work?
I've got all of my cad files and cam files backed up there. 11 years worth of part programs would be devastating to lose.

If you do a search for Carbonite + ransomware it has multiple pages on how it protects against it.  I don't use it and don't know much about the technical details (sometimes the devil is in the details) but from skimming those pages it sounds like it does.

Versioning of backups is a very good thing.

So the WD drive on my desk and the 2nd internal mirrored hardrive would all be lost,
but my carbonite should survive.
geesh

$2 away from 5k kroger fuel points. Shouldn't be an issue by the end of the month.

It's your business and you do what you want of course but just curious -  i always figured Kroger would be a more expensive option for a business?

When kroger puts them on sale for $6.99 that's by far cheaper than a food wholesale. Now this isnt always the case and isn't feaseable to hunt things down. Pfg and the likes are $230 - 240 a case of 30 pounds (Canadian snow crab 5 - 7 ounce legs). On a all you can eat that's 100% worth it for crab legs.

As you stated, Kroger isn't always the best option. We use Sams because there are things cheaper than wholesale that are pretty good actually.  I haven't checked but I don't think they are on sale next week at kroger which results in buying from a wholesaler and in return drives up food cost. We have a deal at $36.99 for all you eat legs, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp and 2 sides. Shrimp is also a refill item. As you can imagine every penny counts when the average person eats 3 pounds a person.

Our security team at work is scrambling to get everything updated and patched.

No worries at home as I keep offline backups bit I also use a Mac.
