I wish this was fake news.   The story is worse than title of the article.

Pakistani village elders order retaliatory rape of 17-year-old girl

You need to avoid anything CNN
Hmm...I never considered that.  Do you have a single source of information I should use?

TV Update:  took it to Norman's Electronics on Clairmont yesterday.  Got a call today that it's fixed - loose components on the power supply board (the same one I replaced with a supposedly good one).  Cost $150.

I'll get $40 back out of the $85 I spent getting the "new" board shipped to me.

So $200 to repair a 2 y/o TV that cost $700 originally.  But that's offset by the alternative of spending over $700 to get a new one.

It's offset, if it lasts 2 more years.

Did the repair dude comment on how many of these repairs he's having to do, or best/worst brands?

Here is one perspective
So, if I'm reading this right I need to flip the chart to see the ones that I really want to rely on?
That would mean that Buzz feed would be #1. Correct?

I don't know what in the heck you are stating/asking.

I don't read much news, so any television shows on that list below CNN are usually pretty tough to watch, unless it's a couple of shows on Fox (usually the journalist ones).

Does Fox have any 'investigative' journalist, or are they just 'we report, you decide' folks?

Thought you'd appreciate that, so if you're looking for someone who does investigative reporting I don't think that exists anywhere outside of "11 alive" anymore. Certain shows will have guests on that share their investigative journalism, and the talking head adds their two cents.

I almost exclusively read the news. The talking heads (any network) usually all have this condescending tone that i can't tolerate. Plus, after 5 minutes, they have hashed out the same debate multiple times while talking over whatever guest they have.

He said that the boards aren't really tested at the factory; only when assembled on the TV is there a test.  Of course, that may be just his opinion.
