Currently Aluminum and Stainless are holding but I have seen a sharp increase in Stainless and Carbon Steel pricing since June. My stainless supplier said that in June "it was the threat of the tariffs." Now, We are now experiencing the tariffs effects. With Stainless and Carbon Steel price increases far exceeding Aluminum. Many of the jobs I am quoting are detailed in steel yet they are asking for Aluminum because of the cost savings.
The kicker I am seeing now is when contractors ask for American made Stainless and then balk at the price because they had no idea it was so much more expensive. Even with the tariffs "import" Stainless is much more affordable.
