Been through the 75N to 24W split before, and recently.

"The bridge collapse took place at the Interstate 75 North and I-24 West split, according to Chattanooga police. The railing from I-75 fell onto the I-24 ramp, according to the state DOT."

It's certainly caused a mess. Took me an hour and fifteen minutes to make it home the day before yesterday and an hour yesterday. Normally a 15 minute drive. Within a few hours of it happening about 15% of the appointments we had set for the remainder of the week called and cancelled. They have been talking about redesigning the split for a decade....I'm kind of hoping it will happen now. That place is the worst bottleneck in the state.

I was hoping it would be a catalyst to fix that intersection and a couple of miles of 24.  It's worse than New Jersey roads...which is really tough to do.

Went to the first ever Augusta National Women's Amateur golf tournament today. My wife and I watched a few holes, but we got a great spot on the 18th to see the last 3 pairs come through. We happened to be walking away from the hole at the right time for the winner and her partner who got second place to cross our path, and Kelly got a high five from both of them. Watch it on TV and look for the super pregnant lady at the end of the round haha.

We like to go whenever possible, but it was super cool to see this historical event in person

I had not heard of this . Yikes!

As someone that has taken the ATL bound 24E to either 75 direction ( N75 takes me thru to get on Ga64 thru Ocoee to my mom& dad's in Morganton & 75S brings me & wife home to ATL/Marrietta) and just as many from ATL via 75N to Nashville via 24W , COUNTLESS times in 40 years , this corridor of interstates & connections for drivers is one of the scariest & dangerous ones in the country. The closest I've ever come to dying with my wife & kids was at this junction ,albeit headed South.

Every trip , I always look at the aging concrete , truck after overloaded truck & wonder wtf would happen if the old stuff gave out. That old ,long bridge that spans over Nickajack is same era & has been patched as much as an old span can be. This stuff is only going to get worse. This was Eisenhower's biggest fear for the country's infrastructure coming true.

Just read this today and scared the crap outta me
