I'm in San Diego this week, for the first time.  I ate at a pizza joint last night, and I asked the bartender for an IPA recommendation.  He said, "#17", so I went for it.  It was a phenomenal IPA (technically an IIPA)...I would put it as world class.  So I went to get a second one and I read the name associated with #17..."Pliny the Elder"....yeah, it is a world class beer!

May not be anywhere close but just fyi, The tomatillo chicken taco at Puesto(at Headquarters) might be the tastiest taco I've ever had.

It's just around the corner from the Bar filmed in Top Gun also.

Morning Coffee

A right of passage I was hoping to delay for a lot longer.  My 18 year old daughter had her first accident.  She had the green light and the right of way and a guy was turning left across her path coming in the opposite direction and had a flashing yellow.  He misjudged the timing and Sarah tried stopping but caught the right rear of his SUV.  His car ended up on its side (driver side).  Fortunately, no one was injured.  My daughter is pretty shaken up and has some bumps and bruises from the seat belt and air bag, but her car did its job and kept her safe.  With her graduation less than 2 weeks away she was very lucky and I am thankful for that.  The other driver got a ticket at the scene.  Now onto the insurance nightmare ahead...

A pic of my daughters car at the scene before the tow truck took it away.

First, I agree...glad your daughter is fine.

Second...since it was his fault, and your daughter has physical damage to her body, I expect the other person's insurance company will want to take care of you ASAP and get you to sign and cash the check quickly.  I know when I was in a wreck many years ago that wasn't my fault...they WAY overpaid for the car I was in that was totalled.  I would expect the same thing here.  Did the other driver have insurance?
