Nope, Chrysler forced my hand, I had to take a huge life insurance policy out on the whole family {peek}

It might go a year or so without doing it, then all of a sudden it does it. Great vehicle, maintenance wise other than that issue.

And what I dont get is when the JK had the shut off issue in early models (my first 07 did it a few times) they had a recall and fixed it quick!

Hell the Jeep liberty meg drives. The 04-07 i think have a plastic clip on the window regulator that can break any time. People have reported coming out of work and windows that were up when they went it were down when they came out. The fix is to put a new window/regulator out of the 2003 jeep liberty. Recall on the windows? nope

How about rear main seal leaks on the 4.0? Common problem. I have had a leak over a yr and I am just short of 30k miles  WTF  My 14 yr old honda civic doesnt leak oil with 168,000 miles.

But going back to the JK. Maybe instead of the skid plate, they should install trans coolers to keep the trans from getting hot, spitting fluid out the overflow and on to the exhaust... From what I remember the only fires in JKs driving down the road were autos. What does that tell you?

Let me get off my soapbox and get back to work...
