I've only heard bits and pieces of their music, but they didn't really blow me away.  But someone else like these other 2 bantering buffoons could really answer you.  ;D

However, I did watch the dubbed over excercises on youtube that John Petrucci did and they were pretty funny.

Musical Geniuses.  These guys are no main stream pop band.  If I had to say, they rank among the most talented "true" musicians in history.
