I am one of the lucky few that my company takes care of our health care coverage. I got a buddy who called me last week saying his had doubled to over $600 for next year.

I am lucky also,  mine didn't go up any. Like I tell folks at work,  it just means we were paying more to begin with.

It makes me sick to think about. I began a retirement setup for my shop and employees earlier this year and then looked at a group health care plan a couple weeks ago, it was crazy high. Id love to talk to someone if anyone here has any suggestions, I wanted the shop to cover the guys so mine and the wifes would be cheaper somehow.

It's bankruptcy insurance, not health insurance.  Having to go from a private plan to an ACA plan.  Previous was $450/mo, $10K deductible; cheapest new plan is $785/mo, $7K deductible for 3 people,

On my end...here are the rough numbers:

- According to my employer, they pay roughly 85% of my healthcare cost (i'm sure for me it is a bit less since I do not actively strive for some extra cash offered for reducing my health risks (weight loss))

- I use the POS plan (it is not an HMO; I choose my doctors (in the network), I go to a specialist when I want (in the network), etc)
- Co-pay for General Practitioner goes from $25/visit to $30/visit
- Co-pay for Specialist goes from $40/visit to $45/visit
- Medical premium goes up $0.75/mo (Deductible went from $800 to $850) (it is odd, but the annual difference in premium for the lower deductible vs the higher deductible is actually higher than the difference of the deductibles.  This has been the case for nearly a decade)
- Dental premium goes up $1.50/mo

From what I have been told, my company is self-insured and the "insurance company" is just an administrator of the plan.

We also are self insured and managed by Cigna.

Did I miss your monthly cost?  Just you or wife on your policy?

Shit I can't wait to see mine.  My employer did something last year to keep the costs down but said that it would mean we'd have a big jump this year.

Just me.

I didn't post the details since the opening post stated the *increase* was substantial, and I don't want to post too much online.  I don't think my coverage cost went up substantially, but "substantial" is a subjective term.

I can discuss details in person, but that is about all I'll post online.

My company covers 85% of our health(United Healthcare) and dental(Delta Dental).  Went up about 4% on health and maybe 2.% on dental.
