Sounds and looks like the angle killed the factory driveshaft joint to me, and they will grab one way, like reverse if rounded off in forward position.

Gotcha, if you can see the pinion flopping, its the gears.

Yea it the gears and pinion and.... I finally got Seth (Sasquatch) on the forum to call Allsouth tomorrow. The saga continues. He thinks the axle is shot as well...

Yep that's him. When is daughter was born he sold it for a family car and has regretted it every day.  He has been looking for a Rubi LJ but the jku really does make more sense as a grocery getter slash forest service road trail runner. He traded in his 07 jku for this 12 jku.  What causes this kind of damages? Is it too much speed in tight twisty spots or is it due to just being worn and possibly not enough regular msintence?

Is it lifted with bigger tire or stock?

Hey guys.

Jeep is completely stock with 4.10 gears. (Towing package). It had a vibration between 60 and 70 that was very minor. I figured it was just some mud.  It detonated the gears inside the pumpkin when I tried to leave the line at a stoplight. Apparently the guy looking at it says he's seen this before and there's a %90 likelihood I'll need a whole new axle as the inside of the pumpkin is trashed. I'll be trying to Allsouth shortly.
