Anyways, before you bought your current 4x4, what were you looking at?

For me, I was look for a Truck, so I thought F150 4x4 but slowly I realized MOST 4x4 trucks are only good for slinging mud and a construction site. So I started looking more at SUV's. My top 3 were: FJ, H3 and Xterra...

I looked at some A4 & some A6s. Hoping to save some gas and use the 79 as my 4x4, then I realized i could buy a TJ instead. WoW what a mistake. :hlp

I was going to get a car for high school graduation from my grandmother. I was looking at late model muscle cars (F-bodies, Mustangs) and trucks (F-150) but realized insurance was going to be really high. Then about 6 weeks before I was too graduate, I was in an accident. Every insurance quote was through the roof and couldn't afford any thing too new. Was looking at all Jeeps but wanted something more capable then a Wrangler (towing, hauling, etc. wise), so I was looking at XJs and ZJs. Found out the ZJs could be had with a V8 and I was sold. Now if I would of done a little bit more homework before I got it, I might have tried to get an XJ or newer ZJ but I'm not regretting it.

the only non-Jeep that I have had in like the past 10 yrs was a BMW 535i when I was stationed in Germany... well and now my wife traded in her 04 Grand for a New ASpen... I have only owned like 4 different kind of cars in my life,.,.,. K-car, Jeep, BMW, Jeep, Jeep, Jeep, wifes Jeep, and now an Aspen.. I had to think about it way to long..

I drove a Commander Overland Edition with a Hemi when I was visting my bro in Colorado. That thing was sweet. I saw my first JK 4-door at that time. I still wasn't sold. I was also looking at the Chevy and GMC trucks. Well, when I got back, I went by the Jeep dealer here and test drove a JK. End of story.
