I wonder if he'll split the order fulfillment between those paying closer to retail versus the special discount orders...or FIFO.

well guys i chickened out and cancelled my order (pitbull was like heck yea) After talking with don i decided a 42" tire was just not worth it. I will probably end up with a lame 40" tire now. @cru9 @Raisinhead @tcdawg let the hell giving begin.

Doug's post is spot on.  Should not only have written it a year or so ago, but then followed his own advice.

thats hilarious but raises a good question. Doug, if thats the advice you give then why do you continue to build up jeeps vs doing a trail only rig?

Sam you know I'm not telling you how to build your rig, you asked, and I gave you my opinion based on my experience and feelings.  Long term I know I want a lighter rig for my Moab and SE wheeling, but am not sure how im going to get there.  Will probably downsize tires on the JK and drive it a lot more. I wish I had the JK rubi axles still under it and on 35s but it is no longer a pristine vehicle.

The answer to why I keep building Jeeps if I feel that way is that I just recently came to this conclusion... I thought I could have both,
but having a nice JK keeps me from wheeling,
I hate trashing it and cleaning it, repeat..., risk of crushing it....
and I shall not do it again.

Might pull the axles, put into a LJ, and put a set of Jk axles back under it, but that would cost some coin too.

Lets just trade axles???

Shit just got real.

I see that Sam cancelled his order though.  Probably a smart idea.

I've said it before, I have just as much fun out there on the medium/hard trails as you guys do bouncing off rocks and flopping.  I cringe every time that my rig slams down on rocks.  My main concern like DOUG mentioned is keeping the body unscathed.  I wasn't successful doing that at GATRFest but it's nothing that the Metal Cloak Overline body armor system won't fix.  I still want to keep my JKR completely streetable.
