Tile showers

Anyone ever install or redo a tile shower? Ours developed a leak at the base (not a plumbing issue) and damaged some of the wood in the wall.

Based on my guesses, the whole floor pan, which is also tile, will need to come up and any wood framing around the shower will need to be replaced.

Anyone ever take anything like this on? I'm not in the mood to demo the whole shower and spend the estimated 6500-12k im being quoted

The pan should be a rubber liner depending on the age of the shower. It runs about 6" up the wall. My tile guy has had success demoing the floor and 6" up the wall, new rubber liner, new tile on floor and bottom of wall. You might be able to save the drain, But I dont think its worth it.The drain plays a big part in the floor pan.
How many square feet of tile is in your shower. and what area are you in? Ill get my guy to ball park it. I do alot of showers with this guy, and Ive worked with alot of tile guys. He is one of the best.

Floor area is 38x46, and here's a pic of the damage. We ended up with termite activity, and the bug guys are coming out Wednesday to remove any termite-damaged wood and replace it. The backside of the damaged wall is our bedroom, so they'll be pulling out that sheet rock to inspect the backside of the shower.

As far as we can tell, this corner is the only damage but know idea how it's happening. Caulk/grout has been scraped out already bc I initially thought I just needed to reseal the cracked corners until I found the wood damage.

If it is a bad pan, he would be around the $4000 range to remove the bottom row of tile, the floor, the curb, and the door, then put it all back with a new pan.

It was actually more than I thought it would be, but Im just the plumber.

We have met. I bought a xj budget boost from you a while ago. I blew the coil spacers out, but the shackles are still working.
