Been back into it for a few days. I showed up and jumped right into a sh*t storm of mission planning. I even got promoted to Team Leader for upcoming "work". I have managed to put together a routine for the first month. Its basically 5 sets of everything but the reps are only 3-5 as well. Its heavy and only done everyother day. Running as well minimum of 2 miles and one long day for an hour. I have a few new BSN products as well I am trying out. These products will not make you drop weight at all. The final 60 days I am here things will change in training and be designed more for those topless pics I spoke of with Krawler!!LOL!! It sucks getting old! Just don't recover as fast. Keep me up on ya'll's progress and I will do the same.  {toast}

Glenn I have heard people really like the 5x5 routine for the major workouts (bench, squat, cleans, dead lift, ect) and the 3x10 of the aux like curls, tricep, shrug, ect.

Given we are so limited on weights and time this is our work out 3 days a week in this order.

10-8-6 bench
10-8-6 military
10-10-10 shrugs
10-10-10 lat pull downs
10-10-10 tricep push downs
10-10-10 curls
10-8-6 leg press
10-10-10 calf raises
10 minute cardio (will raise that next week)

Only thing we have left that we can do is dips, pull ups, rope (another way to work the lats) upright rows, chest flies (but the machine is super sucky) and incline bench. Only problem with the Bench is it only goes up to 180 or 190... thats it

Looks good to me. The only thing I can tell you on the bench poundage is you might have to do rest-puase type workouts. Do as many as you can with reps. Wait 30sec. than as many as you can get, rest 30secs...and so on. You know like I do, something is better than nothing. Oh, a buddy of mine is on that P90X Sh*t. I always give him crap about it, but he did it for just 30 days and I was actually impressed. Yup, it works. I did the Body for life by Bill Phillips. Its just a book and much cheaper than P90X. Its all basically diet and gym frequency. Try this. Eat bad but lift like an animal. You will get big as sh*t, butlook all blocky and have no fighting wind. Eat right and don't do much lifting. You will be like Will! CUtt and pulling hot ass.Hahah!! Its 445am here. I slept from 9pm to 3am. I am awake and bored. Can you tell? Good to go Jerm.

As much as I would love to get big right now I just want to cut the weight and maybe we can all get together for a mountain bike ride this summer and I wont be draggin in the back. I did find out Home Depot has a corporate gym for like $13 a month for employees. I am trying to find out how much to add Megan and we might start going there once I tour it. I hope they have free weights, I just hate machines. In high school our weight lifting coach who came in my Junior year tossed out all machines and we did all free weights and I got a lot stronger during those 2 years.

Yeah, Golds by my house has lost so many members due to LA Fitness, they are offering 20$ a month memberships. I actually have buddies that go to LA Fit. to look at the females and come to Golds to get a real workout!LOL!! As for getting big, I would rather be Men's Health than Mr. Olympia. My days of 400lb bench presses are over. I try to design a program based on job. So long term endurance combined with strength training seems to be where I am at the past 4yrs. Machines are good for maybe just warming up and a change of pace, 1 day a week. I usually do cable work, but thats about it for machines. I feel the same way your coach did.

Yep, Good ol LA. I use to work out there and it was all women (mostly hot) who looked more like they were shopping for a Husband and less about working out. Then you have the super perv old guys who almost tripped watching the women work out. Just was not my scene

My buddies say the same thing about the females. HOT!! I might have to venture over and see for myself. Do the 1 week free pass thing. I like Golds and they have been good to me and the wife. But LA has a pool from what I have heard and 35$ a month no contract obligation. Golds only charges us 15$ a month because we have been there so long(2000Sep). Oh, those damn gym zombies(old guys) yeah. We have them too. They place themselves strategically at times when the girls are doing classes so they can see thoses asses in the air poses ()(). Can you blame them? Hell, we will probably be doing the same thing when we get their age!LOL!

Personally, I will never use a Gold's Gym again! They make you sign a contract that they tell you is transferable to another Gold's Gym just in-case you decide to move, well that's a bunch of crap, it will only transfer if the gym is in the same circle (franchise group) as the one you singed up in. Then when you find out you can't transfer they tell you that you can cancel your membership due to a move but you have to give them a 30 days notice and show proof of the move, which is tough to do when you move to a different state. Blah, blah, blah!

With LA Fitness you have lower monthly payment, no contract, more machines and they have a pool.

As far as HOT chicks go, they both have them ;D

I found out today that our corporate gym only cost $17.30 a month for Megan and I to go with lots of classes (Megan likes classes). I am going to go tour it one day soon.

On a side note, I thought about it last night and I can't really cut weight right now cause I need muscle to cut down too! So if we join the gym where I have real weight I am probably going to keep heavy weights and eat plenty (good nutrition) for probably 5-6 weeks and then start cutting.

alright Glenn I took your advice and I did 180 for 20 reps, then 12 and then 8 and felt like I worked out. Today we go tour the gym and hopefully I can start with free weights Tuesday

Man, I am so sore I can hardly straighten my arms. Worked out 2 times this week >:( kids, 2 jobs, stuff happens, anyway, I started eating more protein, shakes etc and have hit the weights runnin. I feel swole and I can see it in the mirror all ready. 10lbs is my goal. No need to get back to my 235 days. Lean and fast boys!! G, no pics from me! ;D
I've grown tired of this.
