Thats the new A!!! There is another unit here. I PT my ass off at different times of the day. These guys don't do chit-ever!!! I caught these guys sleeping under the MRAPS!!LOL!!! They have all the means to do other things, but they just bee-bop around kicking rocks. I have a big heart for them, but come on. They walk around with shi* uniforms and KNIVES in their boots sticking out.!!WTF? They are a support unit and I have to take that into consideration.  {salute}

I am no expert here but I think lighter, less is better. Or am I wrong? {ehm}
I've grown tired of this.

There is standard issue equipment if this is what your asking. Its dictated by their leadership. Usually some asshol* that has never been past his desk and thinks he knows everything. Chime in SSG! I like light and fast myself, but it also depends how far I am going outside the wire. Honestly, and not to bag on these guys, they don't leave the yard. And they see us just working out and going out multiple times during the day/week. It would piss me off too. Oh well, I can get them a job if they want it, but a large percentage don't qualify or can't pass firearms! Its sad, but thats always been the issue. This might end up being a Mud Pit discussion. ;D

Alright now... I see you guys say "today I am going to work (insert body part)". I guess my question is how is your workout set up? I was always taught upper one day, lower the next, and don't work the same muscle group for 48 hours. I like my current workout but it really only targets each muscle group once... Would I be better off doing like a chest and arms Tuesday, legs Thursday and back and shoulders Saturday. Then this way I can spend more time focusing on the specific groups and less on the whole workout?

First to Jerm.... I worked back and Bis one day, chest and tris next, shoulders next then legs I also work abs everyday, upper, lower and tops. But that is what I like. You work tris when using chest and bis when using back so makes sense to do it that way to me. G... I would want less of the non essential stuff but more ammo for long hauls. ;D

Bodyparts are different for everyone. There are days I can actually go back in and work the muscle group I hit the day before. I do try to get some kind of cardio every chance I get. I like to train chest every 5th day. I train arms independently. This just keeps me from being in the gym for hours on in. Lets face it, you can smoke a muscle in 20 minutes, and put 20 mins of cardio in behind it. So, its different for all of us.

Agreed, I am in the gym for no more than 45 minutes. I use the less rest between sets. Around 20 seconds in between to really burn it up and keep the heart rate going. Cardio is coming soon since it has warmed up. The bike will be out soon!

Racquetball and soccer for me. Just getting in to racquetball and man that game wears you out! We've got a super nice gym on campus here, but I haven't been in over a year. Gonna try to start going again soon.

Thanks for that fellas. I think I will take a page from Ben's book there and do the chest triceps, back and biceps and then legs. And glenn you are right on the time thing... I think we have been spending around an hour and a half in the gym. If we cut down the workout we can do longer cardio and spend less time total. Another question, where would you put the shoulders in 3 day workout routine? Part of me says with legs because all there is at the gym is leg press, curls and extensions, and calves so it's a short workout

Hard to say. Both shoulders and legs are pretty taxing workouts. You can put them together, but you might cut yourself short due to fatigue. You can do a 3 days on 1 day off type of rotation. In the old days  ::), I use to do chest, shoulders and tri, Back, bi's and 3rd day was legs. Than off and start the cycle over.

Yeah im gonna have to play around with it some. Sucks to be limited to 3 days a week but gotta do what you can with what you have. I know one thing is more cardio! With the whole body workout by the time we make it to cardio we were so ready to be done that 20 minutes is the most we do... Lord knows I need more cardio so I can hang with Ben on the bikes
