Picking up a GC!
« on: November 18, 2009, 02:41:56 PM »
Finally got my wife a New to us 02 Grand. 1 owner 92k miles, 4.7, leather, heated seats..yadda yadda..Plus all service records for a steal at 3,500! I thought something would be wrong with it, got it checked & came back perfect. I just have to fix the hazing on the lights. Any tips for this?
I'll try to get some pictures up, along with my jeep that nobody has seen.

{toast}  That's cool. I had a WJ with long arms and 32s before some ahole totaled it.  I miss it sometimes.  There are some write ups on JF on how to fix the hazed headlights with polishing.

Start with 600 grit - sand it down until it is bright white. Then use 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 and if you can find it 2500 grit. Then do a wet sand with the highest grit you could find. They will look like new.

Walmart also has a kit for $20 that works pretty good. Polishing them will greatly improve the way it looks.

I'm getting the feeling that we're about to get ripped off! I'll explain whenever I have the details on what's going on..
I'm heading to the dealership to figure this out. It looks like I was lied to...Big time!

Sorry to hear. Good Luck.
Do Work Aka Moon Man. What you lack in technique make up in throttle! Or a set of cheater tires.

It fell through.
Here's what happened.
I found this Jeep on Craigslist & it's close to my house, so I drove by the place to check it out. Everything looked great..(This was on Tuesday) So, yesterday I send my wife there to look at it & the salesman knew she would coming to look at it. She calls me after I told you guys about it & said something about it being 4 wheel drive, but she wanted it anyway. I just assumed that I missed the fact that it was four wheel...She put the deposit on it (100.00) until I got off to get the cash.
Well, she calls me back & I'm asking her more of what she thought about it & she loved it, just didn't like the 4 wheel drive & the fact that it needed tires....
That's when it hit me that they were selling her a different Jeep than the one I saw; I try calling the guy back & he's nowhere to be found & isn't answering his phone.
I leave work & go to the dealership to see what they were trying to sell her & it was a White Grand, with cloth seats, 4.7, no sunroof & 157k miles!!! Clearly not the same one I was looking at.
On top of all of that, I check the oil & there was none showing on the stick! They asked me if I wanted to drive it & I said "No, I want our deposit back & nobody should drive this POS, it has no oil"
Once I got the 100 back, I became very irate until I got kicked off the lot.
I can't stand dishonest people!! My duty is to flag every ad he puts up on there!

So, now I have another guy meeting me up here for lunch today showing me another GC. We'll see how this goes...
