Get 37"s. If you don't like them/your Jeep can't handle them then just trade them for some 35"s. Easier to go big then go small then go small and try to go big.

Been there, and spent a lot of time thinking about it. I made the same decision Tony did. Start with 35's (also MTR K) and look at 37's next time around. I didn't want to trim the rear pinch seam, which left me needing rear upper and lower control arms to move the axle back. Plus sleeving the front axle, etc. I also wanted to delay a re-gear...

But 37s would be nice! :-)

So what about 37's on 1.75" of lift? {popcorn}

Have you talked to Livingston about what trimming there is to be done? I feel like he started off with a very similar setup to what you're thinking of.

Seth, I think you are experiencing a bit of peer pressure :D Honestly, I would get 35's, the JK guys know what they are saying here. I can only say that going to 37's right off the bat and no gears will be miserable. Also got to think about being comfortable hitting things hard with 37's on stock JK axles. Driving style will dictate. Mike has had great luck with his front. Remember he bent the axle on the rear on 37's. Bigger is not always better... in this case anyway :D

Thanks for the input guys.  I just sold my cherokee so I have a nice wad of cash I plan on dumping into the JK.  Gears are in the budget right away.  I am reading into trussing and gusseting and sleeving right now.  I am thinking about taking it to Allsouth or somewhere to truss and gusset when they do the gears.

Hey Tony, can you give me details on what you did to your axles?

I have a RK 3.5" X factor lift and RK 2.0 Emulsion shocks on the way.

I just can't stand the thought having to sit back and watch Livingston try something that I can't try becuase of my tires!  It's eating me up and giving me a headache too!  I've been wheeling for about 4 years now and I kind of want to be a big dawg on the trail rides ya know?  AHHHHH what to do!!

Pretty sure there's nothing a 37 can do that a 35 couldn't. Depending on what brand tire your not gaining that much. The 38's I was running only measured 36.5.
Do Work Aka Moon Man. What you lack in technique make up in throttle! Or a set of cheater tires.

35's won't last forever, and it will take more parts than 37's to keep up with Livey.  It's your daily driver. Take it slow and easy.

The joy of following someone that has big tars and driveshafts and axles and gears is far less than the pain of a broken rig.

I came to value being able to drive it home and on the next trail ride without body damage or an expense and repair far more than going over a wicked rock.
