Doug, I am interpreting from your statements that you believe fiscal liberals will rally together while fiscal conservatives, because they are in different parties, will not be able to rally together.  I do not agree with that belief.
I do believe the liberal and conservative vote will be reduced/split when there is another option available that isn't anti-abortion, pro-huge corporations, anti-government, and pro-war.

Not exactly.    Cliff notes: Liberals will never join in.

There are only the 2 decision ruling positions of Liberal and Conservative.

Liberals will never change from their party line unless the party moves away from the liberals primary concern(s).  The 3rd party has no appeal to a liberal because they already have what is most important to them covered, and that is paramount to all.  They won't join with conservatives as conservatives do not support most liberal programs.

The 3rd party pulls primarily from and fragments the conservative vote.  Many conservatives are liberal on social issues and can vote 3rd party (LIBERTARIAN) without compromising on their morals as they support some social issues in belief they are their brothers keeper.

Doug, I know for a fact there are democrat voters who do not want to support 'tax and spend' policies, but who will not vote for a republican due to the party's platform of anti-gay, pro-war, anti-non-white, pro-Christian, blah, blah, blah positions.  In their minds, the evils of deficits and debt are not as bad as what the republicans represent on the social, religious, and war topics.  I would never suggest these democrat voters are going to support Ted C, but there is a moderate middle ground available, if we can get more than the standard two parties we have now.

I will agree to disagree with you about the possibility of a third party.  For now, and possibly the rest of US existence, you are in the driver's seat and can count on my vote to be thrown away!

Funny how suddenly now the Dems are making comments that they are looking forward to "working with". . funny how  things change, just a while back it was.  "we r going to ram it thru and there is nothing u can do" ..  Obama is still nothing more than a hack, un qualified idiot, he has spent the last 6 years ramming his agenda thru, running this country into the ground., hopefully we can correct some things, but i feel he has done some deep damage...

won't happen...need 2/3rds of the senate to convict an impeachment from the house.

True, executive orders could occur...other presidents, in fact a very recent one, have done that same thing.
