What, are you putting 4d's without cutting? Is there is no need for a 6in lift. 35's can be ran with less than 6in's and that the biggest that's the largest the stock tj axles need to see, but if you have a terdy 35 rear then 35's can make it explode going down the road...kid you not.

what lift are you thinking about running? There is will  be so much cost assoiated with that high of a lift that it's crazy.

I run 35's on 3.5". Matt runs 2.5" and 35's. It can be done. I for one do not like when Jeeps go over 4" total lift. Gravity lines change and it gets hairy...

Yep I have 35's with 3" (2" sus, 1" BL). But i see you have a Cj5, not a TJ in sig and picture so I got no clue on lifts for that but I would think as small as the CJ is... 6" of lift would be down right scary on anything but a flat road.

He is piecing together a lift for a 2006 TJ (see profile)

He bought some stuff I used to have.
2 4'' front springs
2 2'' coil spring spacers
2 5.5'' rear springs
t-case drop bracket

He could make this work and run it for years for not much money.
It comes down to he only needs those couple of parts to have a whole
lift......yes it may be higher that what all y'all like are think is proper

It all comes down to spending the money
to start with or if you can't afford it to piece a
lift together. If I had it to do over I would have
waited until I could afford it. Hindsight is 20/20.

I ran 4'' springs with additional 2'' spacers for a
total of 6''s for several years with 35's on stock
axles.

{agree} It took my years to save for my 1st lift. I believe in doing things right the 1st time. Kevin, nobody is busting on him. We are just posting opinions and offering suggestions to get it done right. But is this for a TJ or CJ?

Well, I guess the question is this then... does he want to run 6"? I know we all like things in our own way, but 6" is alot of lift on a TJ. But, to each his own right!

He posted wanting front springs for a TJ...
http://www.gatrailriders.com/GTRForums/index.php?topic=9247.msg151240#msg151240

He agreed to buy my 4'' front springs.....
When we met I also showed him the 2'' spacers, 5.5'' rear springs,
and t-case bracket, and control arms with worn bushings. He had
control arms already so I said with the rest of my stuff you could
just bout have a whole lift but it would be 6'' instead of 4''.....
so he bought the rest...

Well to each his own! Jeeps are like Legos, you can build anything you want! I can say when I went from a 3" BL to a 1" BL I could feel a huge difference in the roll of the jeep on the road. If he wants 6" have at it but we all are just trying to show the other side of a big lift. Little lifts have issues too. I drag my belly and high center a bit but hopefully my new belly skid will help that.
