Title: Getting in shape 2011
Post by: ghostdancer308 on January 21, 2011, 02:46:25 PM
There was a thread started by Trailibite (sp)-Chuck; and it went for a good amount of time. I guess i can start one. I am back in Iraq and jet-lag is getting the best of me. That being said, Chuck, Jerm and whomever, jump in. I weighed in tonight at 210lbs. I got in at 4am, got my toys issued to me at 9am and I went to bed and slept until 430pm. In the gym at 950pm. Most people who try to make a conscious effort, when it comes to health, fail around the 27th of Jan. Statically speaking. I am trying to get into the low 190's for body weight and not have a MikeD build (half woman half knuckle dragger). LOL!! So, thought I would start a new thread. Went in tonight and did an easy 1 mile run (10:42) and did shoulder work and some stretching. I only worked out 1 week total this time at home. Just to damn busy to fit it in at times. Hope all are well. Good seeing a few of you this time at D-town. Hope to see you guys in the Spring/summer...

Man rough start for me.... 20 days on a cruise ship did me no good. Worked out every day and was pretty active but all that food got me. Hope to get down into the 230's range this year and stay there. Here is to 2011  {toast}

cruise food is the best/worst for you! I am changing up my routine as well. No more power lifting crap. All it ever got me was shoulder and back pain anyways. Doing more stuff off the website below. {salute} {toast}

I started back in Oct 2010 and have managed to work out 4 days a week. After starting back I went from 275 up to 292 and have droped back down to 285 and drop a notch in my belt too. Really wished that had taken all my measurements before starting back.

Added in 45 minutes of cardio a workout to the mix two weeks ago and have been eating two bolied eggs for breakfast all month long. Been trying like heck to stop eating bread, but that is just down to once every three days.

Starting next week I have to go to the gym at 6 am Monday - Friday or not workout at the gym.

Been thinking about trying this for cardio for a while.

I re-tore my rotator about a year & half ago & quit doing anything, along with quitting smoking. I finally broke the 200 mark around mid Dec, which is about 40lbs more than what some of you might remember me as. It's mostly in my belly from sitting around drinking beer. We Joined LA Fitness right after I weighed myself & I've been working on my shoulders & doing a lot of cardio. I just want to be able to play racquetball without pain.

I feel your pain. I have had 2 surgeries on my right shoulder. It seems when you injure or just tweek the major joints of the body they are never the same.

While you guys are trying to loose weight and get in shape, I am trying to do the opposite. I currently weight in at 130lbs with 10.02% body fat. Ideally I would like to be about 150lbs. I usually run a lot...(10-20+ miles a week), I have cut this down and I am lifting a lot of weights. I run road races pretty often so I need to keep my cardio up, but put on weight. I have started doing the p90x series and have been doing so for about 2 weeks. I have not noticed any size increase but I have increased my strength. I wish you guys the best with your goals.

your going to have to cut that cardio in order to put on size. Your caloric intake also needs to rise to include all macronutrients..i.e..protein and carb consumption. I actually watch what I eat here at work so I can go to $hit when I am at home with the family and hanging out with the guys. Its not a science, but you have to do your research. I took yesterday off and went in the gym this morning at 6am. 1 mile run, chest and light squats...its going to be a long road back into shape...

I have gotten porky for me at 170. I want to lean down to 160.

I have some goals that I'm working back toward. I had right at  300 bench and weighed around 165. Currently I need to improve upon my bench, dead lift, front squats, and run time.

I did pretty close to an all out effort 3 mile treadmill run at 23:06 this week (could have done better). I want it at 21min but target is 18min ( that's flying to me but best friend brother runs it in up 14's so I'm freaking slow).

Yall give a look see at www.sealfit.com, www.militaryathlete.com, and www.crossfit.com

I'm about functional strength and not a beach body but can also run.

Good luck to everyone. I think everyone should post there accomplishments to help encourage everyone, at least imho.

Im at about 195 last time I weighed. Didn't exercise at all last semester (my first worried about school rather than fitness). Now that I have one semester of college under my belt I have been walking one mile and running another. Then 100 crunches and 20 push ups. I really do not want to lift weights, doc said I had tendonitis in my shoulders and elbows, so 20 pushups is the max i can do before it hurts bad. Hopefully i can get back down to 170-180 like i was before college, maybe 160. any other things yall suggest i could do to lose the belly?

i cant really lift anything. i tried bench and when i lift my shoulder pops, burns, and i lose all my power. i dont really have a work out partner so im sticking with stuff i can do on my own.

Liquor instead of beer {hihi}

Actually, thats probably not true, since liquor contains lots of sugars.

So, just skip dinner on Friday and Saturday or donate blood before you hit the bars.

It'll help your finances as well ;)

kettle bell work or TRX...shoulder popping is usually instability....stabilizing muscles need to be worked along with the large muscle groups. i have the same issue in my right shoulder, or did. But I could still throw in the low 90'smph back then as well.

Well now that I'm out of town working again for a while I figured I would try and get back in the gym to give me something to do instead of sitting in the appt. bored at night. Like some of yall I've got a bad shoulder from baseball and I'm hoping it will hold up long enough for me to try and build some strength back up to help support it.
Any ideas on what would be a good start to get me broken in? {popcorn}
Title: Re: Getting in shape 2011
Post by: ghostdancer308 on January 24, 2011, 02:33:45 PM
...I actually only do a few movements associated with the kettle bells. I use the 25lb and 45lb plates in the gym. By taking the use of a handle you build grip strength. You can do the movements without using a kettle bell and get the same result. Pawn shops have kettle bells also...

So other than P90x what other programs are people using? I have pretty much gone basic. I find lifting weights takes to long for me to want to do after a 12 hr shift. Now it's just pullups, pushups, situps, squats and some kettlebell stuff. Runing and biking have gone out since it's cold but I need to be!

I do the weight lifting thing about 4 days a week for sure, it is a major stress reliever for me. I also do 30 minutes to and hour of cardio on an elliptical machine every other day. I have not been doing the cardio but for the last two week.
I plan on doing the mtn bike thing just as soon as it warms up.
I started back to doing jiu jitsu 3 days a week. Last night was my 1st night back and I was sure I was going to puke or die or both.  :hlp

Larry, what style of Ju Jitsu are you doing? I took aikijujitsu years ago. This one combines with hard and soft arts, which was very hard. It took me almost a year and half just to get a yellow belt.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Gi
http://veritasbjj.com/

We do 30 minutes of cardio, then 30 minutes of techniques followed up by 30 minutes of rolling.

I used to box some when I was a teenager then wrestled Freestyle when I was 19/20. In 93 I started taking Wing chun, Chin Na, with some bits and pieces of Fukien White Crane, Chen Tai Chi Chuan, Pa Kua Chang, Hsing-I throw in and not stop till 2003. I studied BJJ/MA for almost a year in 06/07 then the d@mn jeep almost killed me. I could not roll or practice for almost a year and the place had stopped doing any grappling. So spent last year looking for a good place to train that was close to home.

Got it checked twice. First time, my nodes in my armpits were so swollen, I couldn't put my arms down....Got put on Bactrim, nodes went down after two days, kept taking meds & had (what I thought was) a bad reaction, which caused blisters on my hands, arms & legs. Went to get that checked yesterday cause it's been a week without meds. Doc said nothing to worry about, just some sort of virus & should go away within a couple weeks.....Lots of Water & Sleep

I'm joining the fun on this years thread.

I got a wake up call during a doctors visit in December.  I'm on the path for adult onset Diabetes.

My instructions were to stay away from white flour, lose weight, and increase my cardio.

I'm 5'11" and weighed 218lbs.

I've replaced my white bread and rolls with wheat or whole grain.  Also I've been buying wheat pasta and tortillas.  I'm doing a poor job reducing my caloric intake.  I'm good for a few days then blow it for a week.

I'm hanging at about 212lbs now.  I'm terrible about working out in a gym.  I have a mental block when it comes to lifting weights.  However I've been a soccer player my whole life so I'm in the process of finding a decent team or two and some pickup games.  I had been 205lbs and dropped down to 190lbs just before meeting my wife.  All that took was caloric reduction and soccer 3 times a week.  I lost that 15lbs in about 6 weeks.  But over the course of the last 3 years and the addition of a wife and child I gained nearly 30lbs.

My target weight is 185lbs.  I think if I play soccer 3 times a week and reduce my caloric consumption to 1800 I should hit that mark by September.

300 cal for Snack (Myoplex shakes or Cliff builder bars)
600 cals for Dinner

I need some ideas for good tasting protein bars. I have forced down two Cliff Builder bar Chocolate, but they are kind of chewy and not good on taste.

What is your favorite brands and flavors?

Just go to Kroeger and buy one of each. The ones more designed females seem to taste the best. {ehm} I like the 100g bar by Weider/Met-rex. Its high calorie though.

I have never had luck with protein bars. I guess to make it taste good it would need higher sugar content and that goes against what most are trying to accomplish.

Something that small, just eat it quickly & be done with it. None of them taste good, not even the Fem ones.
I've had the best luck with shakes if I'm wanting something that taste good. Vanilla protein mixed with half a bananna, frozen fruit & vanilla yogurt in a blender is pretty good (blended with water or milk). If you want less sugar, use sugar free stuff. Make sure you wash your stuff right away though. The protein is a pain to clean if it sits.

Laying off the weights till Friday. Right bicep has not been able to heal. Hit 45 minutes of cardio on the elliptical the last couple days keeping my heart rate at 150.Thinking about upping the time to 115 minutes.

Unexpected pay off was getting hit on my a good looking younger chic yesterday at work. That has not happened to me in a long while. No I am not a player but it did wonders for my ego and made me want to work even harder in the gym.

Right shoulder is about done...Its not really healing right and I need an MRI. So its dumbbells only now for chest or nothing much heavier than 295lbs on flat bench. Our dumbbells only go up to 105lbs here which is light but able to get the job done. I have dropped bodyweight to 205lbs, but its because we have our annual PT test coming up; and I have picked the pace up for the Spartan gig...getting old, getting fat!!

We went and joined the Lifetime Fitness gym. Went in last night and walked 1.6 miles on the treadmill. Doesn't sound like much but it's been a full year of not doing anything so I'm starting of slow. After having that lap band put in I just can't believe how much muscle I have actually lost.

Some of you know I started P90X sunday night. Been really great so far. I am also trying to keep my 3 day a week MTB run as well. I ride 12 miles on the trail and then have an hour b4 we do X. The one thing I suggest, don;t ride the day you do plyometrix! I have never sweated that much in my life! I think my heart rate stayed near peak the entire time. Crazy! I highly recommend the X to you all. It will keep your bodies wondering what is next. It is too easy to fall into a routine and never progress. Keep up the good work all! Well, except G. I rode an easy 4 miles on the mtb yesterday. I was on the sidewalk following my wife while she ran.  ;D There are some big ass hills on the loop. Going to try and do that a couple times a week for about a month then start hitting the woods.
Muscles in my back at still messed up, but i think it is to the point where I need to work out to keep them from tightening up too much.

This week 3:

This week I backed off of the 30 minutes of cardio and increased my workout on the free weights. I still do about 5 minutes on the treadmill to warmup but I'm spending about 45 min to an hour on the weights. So far I have gained 2 pounds, but my body fat has went from 33.3% down to 30.2% as of this morning. Once the muscle starts building that fat % will start going down pretty quick I think.

I had an exercise test done the other day. Here are my results:

Your resting heart rate is normal and your resting blood pressure is a little bit better than average. Resting HR was 84 bpm and blood pressure was 110/67 mmHg

Your body fat percentage is 4.02% which is incredibly good. If a 7 site skinfold test were to be done instead of a 3 site, it probably would've been closer to 5%, but either way you are extremely lean.

Your grip strength fell into the average range for your age group. Your highest values were 48 for your right hand and 38 for your left.

Sit and reach scores were also right in the average range.

Your 90% predicted VO2max was 39.509 ml/kg/min. Meaning your body utilizes 39.509 ml of oxygen per kilogram of body weight per minute. If you wanted to improve your VO2 max you would need to exercise at an intensity that would get your heart rate up to about 175 bpm.

Not a whole lot. I try and run about 3 days a week (15+ miles a week) and I do a couple hundred push-ups and around 30 pull ups each morning. I was doing the p90x workouts, but these past couple of weeks have been really bad as far as school goes and i have not been doing it. I am going to try and get back into it starting next week.

What do yall think about this protein: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=OP-1011 ?

I'm looking for something good but not overly expensive. Right now I'm drinking the muscle milk like stuff in the little cartons for breakfast and throughout the day. Those things aren't the cheapest. I have used GNC pro performance protein powder but that"s not cheapest, well anything from there store isn't.

Larry, when doing BJJ are you just doing the kata's or are you actually making contact? I don't know how you do it with a chest muscle injury.......

I'm going into week 4 now. I backed off of the cardio and I'm spending more time lifting. I need to build muscle, period. I tried doing a regular bench press last week and could not believe how hard it was. I think the girl next to me was benching more.......

Don't worry about how much somebody else can do! Worry about are you giving it 100% every time and are you gaining and reaching your goals. I will be telling myself this in a month when I start trying to bench again.

There are some warm up drills and some things in practice that I just can't do right now. The jui-jitsu is mostly pulling, leveage and not so much about pushing, strength or size. The differences in strength and size have to be major for it to be a factor. So I am able to roll (make contact) at around the 80% effective range. I am eating between 1200 - 1800mg of ibuprofen a day too (doctor prescribed).

Video we shot last night.
Ignore the fat guy in the corner resting while they did sprints.  ;D I was tried and seeing large spots in my vision at that point in the night.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder and chest injuries.  You will loose weight doing cardio as well just be careful how much you increase otherwise you could injure yourself.

What is your plan for cardio?  (running, cycling, swimming)

I run as well.  I am sure that you have heard this before but only increase your mileage 10% per week to avoid injury.  When running go at a pace that allows you to have a conversation.

Hope you heal fast.  There is nothing worse than getting injured while working toward a goal.

So who can set up a good running schedule. Back when I didnt run and I had to quickly get to 1.5 mile shape I did a made up schedule. I ran 1 day as far as I could, then next day I ran half of that. Then I took a day off and repeat. It worked for the most part but wondering if there is a better way.

What I was taught: If your new and just starting, start at 1 mile and walk for a few days, then slowly jog as far as you can and walk the rest. Each time you go try to increase the distance that you jog. Once you get where you can jog the full mile then you can start to increase your pace or your distance depending on what your after. I'm sure there are other plans out there.

I can help with a running plan, it would be worth what it cost you. :)  Are you wanting to achieve a specific goal (a race or speed)?

If you are just trying to get back into running a great program is couch to 5K.  This program will get you running a 5K in two months running three days a week (30 minutes per workout).

Never heard of the couch to 5k but might give it a shot. Some of my co-workers think these plans (100 push ups in 6 weeks, 200 sit ups, ect) are a joke and we have been debating doing them as a group. I will toss this 5k thing in maybe

Yeah C25K is a popular program.  Even though a 5K is not a long distance it does two things for beginning runners.  It establishes a routine of running several times a week and you progress in mileage over time in a controlled way.  Once you complete the program you have a good base to work from.

It is very easy to build out a running program after the 5K to train for a 5K or 10K race.

Good job Larry {toast}

I can't figure out what my weight is right now. It goes between 214 all the way back up to 219. It's driving me crazy. I'm feeling better and my clothes are starting to fit differently so for now I'm not going to change anything. I just started into my 5th week of weight lifting so I still have 7 more weeks for results. At the end of my 12 weeks I will make some adjustments if needed.

it is all about finding something that you like to do. I really don't like running but the cardio helps my BJJ. Keep riding that mtn bike!

Thats why I do it because I find it fun. The running thing, as long as I can run a mile I feel it's good enough. I run sprints because it's short and I am more likely to sprint in my job than i am to run a mile. It also helps I have co-workers who MTB and are better than me so it's a good push.

G, you have the genetics to gain muscle. You are short and that helps. I give up on ever being big again as I am '6,6" and for me to gain signifigant muscle it costs too much $ to eat and supplement it all :P. If I can stay lean I will be just fine. No middle aged beer belly for me please.

For those of you who like to run or bike, I suggest a cool FREE app called imapmyrun. It uses the gps on your phone and drops markers at intervals which you control to map the route you take. It counts calories, distance, mile per times etc. It has worked flawlessly for me and like I said... it's free! Here is the link to my last ride I logged.

http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/36110772

It has a food intake section as well on the app. Pretty cool for those who care. I also downloaded an app called my fitness pal for free. It is a food intake calorie tracker that works awesome for keeping up with daily intakes and excercise {toast}

Back, biceps, half hour of fast walking and two hours of BJJ after work today.

C25K tomorrow.

New guy here tossing out my own $.02.  :)

If anyone is looking to drop weight and has the discipline for an eating plan, let me know and I will give you more details on the program I got through my doctor.  1.5 years ago I was at 244 and a couch potato (office/sitting job) when I found out my doctor was running a weight loss program where they do a full body of tests, monitor you through the program, and then run the tests after.  They check things like BMR/RMR, fat and lean muscle %, and so forth.

The goal is to provide a way for fast weight loss, without sacrificing health and lean muscle.  I have always struggled with dieting due to frustration at not eating what I like and slow progress.  This was a 12 week program and I figured I could manage anything for 12 weeks if there was progress.

Well, in 12 weeks I dropped 40 lbs to weigh in @ 204.  Body fat % was down a lot, lean muscle loss was 1-2% (good considering there was no exercise added).  Unfortunately, I did not adapt the maintenance program and in the past year went back up to 233.  After several stop/start attempts I got my wife on board with supporting my healthy meal for dinner and I am now down to 198 with a goal of 185 (I'm 6'1").  My wife saw how well I was doing and started eating on the program with me and went from 133 to 114, with a goal of 110 (she's 5'2").

I was walking for 45 minutes/day @ ~400 calories, but haven't picked it up since getting back from vacation.  Body fat has dropped 5% already.  I see Larry is doing BJJ which is awesome for calorie burn - I would love to get back into my Muay Thai program w/BJJ, but having to manage our 2 little kids prevents any program like that at least until they get into regular school.  The exercise it optional, however.  On a good day, I can drop .5-1 lbs just from managing my diet; where we go wrong is failing to stick to it on weekends where we're out and about with the kids and its too easy to cheat.

Anyhow, just thought I would throw it out there for anyone struggling with weight loss.  I'd be glad to share more with anyone interested.

Thanks.  I forgot to mention the 35 lbs I have lost so far took about 2 months (not including the 1.5 weeks I took off being sick + vacation).

One other recommendation - if you have an iPhone, I would recommend the free app from www.myfitnesspal.com (not sure if they have an android app).  Once you are forced to record everything you put in your mouth, it becomes tougher to lie to yourself about how good (bad) your diet really is.  Most people really have no idea how many calories they consume in a day (I'm eating about 1000/day, lots of protein, plenty of energy).

So whats the plan just count calories?

No, its primarily a meal-replacement plan.  5 plus 1 "lean and green" meal with a lean meat (more/less depending on how lean), two green vegetables, and a fat serving.  Its a low glycemic index diet that focuses on 1) low calories; 2) plenty of protein for lean muscle support; 3) maintaining blood sugar levels.  There's no dairy, no useless carbs (ex. bread), etc.

It takes some testicular fortitude to stick with it, but if you DO NOT CHEAT, you will guaranteed lose weight.  One guy lost 60 lbs in 2 months, just on diet alone.

I am holding at 256-260. Lifting about 55% of the weight I was doing before I got hurt. That is double from last month. Being extra careful on the shoulder, it is far from well. Still hammering the BJJ and C25K. Had to up my potassium intake some because of cramps in my calves, shins and quads.

Just an update... I tried on a pair of shorts on the other night that have always been tight and to my surprise, they are about 1-2 sizes to big in the waist now. This is the leanest I have been since my early 20's. Back in the day I was as low as 8% body fat at 230lbs. So I can't complain with where I am now being 35. I have been slack last week due to painting my house and camping but am getting back on the X this week and still rockin the bike regiment of 3 days a week, 12 miles a pop. Dang heat is ridiculous though. Ready for fall already!

Bump...I'm injured. Did 335lbs for 2 reps, 315 for 6 and felt something going on in the left shoulder. I went to the team medic and I am out of commission for a week. Strained biceps tendon...and to many birthdays... :bs)

Shoulder is getting better very slowly. Got up to 80 lbs dumbbells this week but still hurts a bit. I am able to do more than one pushup now but I have to do them very slow and controled.
Started adding cardio back into my gym sessions too.Doing BJJ 4-5 days a week now.

Weight still 258-263. Dropped a little more size in the last month.

It helps! Keep up the work and don't get discouraged. Just remember, you are doing yourself an awesome favor by taking care of yourself. I am down 22lbs. Getting cut up and about to hit the weights again. Lost all this from the bike. Cardio is where it's at!

Still holding at 31lbs of weight lost. Got back on my calorie counting this week and hope to start droping again in the next 7-10 days. I have lost over 4 inches in both my waist and hips since February.
Monday through Thursday I have been getting a 2-3 miles of jogging at lunch. Then hitting the weights and 35-45 minutes  of elliptical  and doing BJJfor 1.5 hours.
Fridays I have been getting a 2-3 miles of jogging at lunch. Then hitting the weights after work.
Saturdays been getting another 1.5 -2 hours of BJJ in.
Sunday is rest day, sometimes.
Been at the schedule for 3 weeks now or as close to it as life will let me get, something got to break the weight plateau that I hit.

Oh and I have 50 days till Tennesse state Bjj championship.

I kept hovering around 261 to 267 and had to cut my cals down to 1670 a day this week.  I have dropped 7lbs in 3 days. Now at 260. I would like to be 256 by Friday morning. Been taking some stuff call Recoverite after my last workout of the day and using it as my dinner. 10 grams of protien and 30 grams of carbs. Still hitting the weights 4 days a week, cardio 5 days a week and doing jui-jitsu 4 days a weeks.Been fast walking at lunch Monday-Friday with a friend who is trying to lose weight to help motive him. I don't off an off day anymore. Shoulder pain is still there but gets a little less every week. Lots of things and movements that I can't do with it but making the best out of it.
Warrior dash coming up this Saturday.
31 days till the Tennesse State Jui-jitsu comp.

This was my first race of any type and I loved it. I did not know that they used the chips to time you and my wife did not get them while I was parking the car among the thousands of other cars. So I don't have a solid way to know what time I did run but I do feel like it was around 40 minutes or less. My legs are still sore today.

Ok so Im kinda new to this workout thing again as its been over 3 years since I've been able to do anything physical thanks to an injury in the Marine Corps.  So I got back on my mountain bike 2 weeks ago, rode every day of the week and half of last week puting over 40 miles in at blankets, got back on the road bike yesterday for 10 miles in 35 min in the hills so im starting to get going at a decent pace.  I've already down to 238 from 250 something in about 2 week.  WOOHOO my wife is extremely happy to see this working out for me again.  {toast}

My mountain biking has taken a serious blow due to the kids having soccer 3-4 nights a week and my wife teaching again at night. So I am lucky to get 2 days a week now. >:( Everything I have seen as far as calories being burned for mountain biking is crazy. My usual 12 mile loop burns over 1000 calories. But if you are puss footing it, then less. I have 1 speed on the trails, all out. I started P90X months back and did really well but have since put it on hold for family stuff. Dang tired lately since I am not on a schedule anymore.  ballchain

They still give out the chips. My wife was handling all the registration stuff and she did not get them for some reason. I was parking the car in the sea of thousands of cars. I know now to get the chip for the next race.

Been a while since anybody posted in this thread. Just because it is the Holidays does not mean it is time to relax. Make time to get your work outs done.
For those of you thinking about waiting for new year's resolutions before you start to better yourself physicaly and mentally, I have a question for you. WHY NOT START TODAY? Does not matter if it working out, quiting smoking or learning a new language, getting a couple extra mile in on the mtn bike or running, or just finding a better more productive you. Don't wait start now!

Ok, off my soap box.

Made it down to 241 for a day but could not hold it i am back to 244. Set a new gold for myself and it is to be 220 by FEB 13th. Shoulder is getting alot better but not 100%. My over all strength is down about 20% but I think that is from all the Jui-jitsu workouts and I can deal with trading some strength for skill.

I just had to go buy smaller jeans again this past weekend. January of this year I was in a 44 now I am in a 36 and getting closer to a 34 every day.

Made day 2 happen. I kept telling my self I was going to have 2 easy weeks to get back in and get the sore out then kick it up in Jan with a good workout. Well I forgot how much I love working out. Once I get in there and get my music going... I cant stop. Has not been 2 easy days and will pay for it tomorrow. Plan to do a 4 day workout with Wed and Sat/Sun as a break or cardio.

A guy at work showed me this workout and I am going to follow the weights part of it with a few modifications. Overall pretty solid workout.

Doug, I go to golds Hamilton mill. You should join!

The biggest thing you can do is set a specific time to cut off eating, for example don't put any food in your mouth after 7:30. You'll either eat earlier and digest before bed or skip that meal!

This is free an easy!

I think its good advice for me on my schedule, and late night snacks need to go.

The older I get, the less I need to eat to gain weight. Bummer.

Doug, doesn't get off at 8. If you go to bed on a light stomach you actually wake up ahead. Instead of spending the night burning your dinner off, you spend it burning other calories.

I can tell a difference in a day or two when I follow it.
