Before I bought the Rubi, I considered the FJ and the H3. I ruled out the H3 after seeing the powertrain. The FJ... I looked long and hard, but the IFS was the hard point for me. I had the Tracker, and it has IFS... and it isn't the best for offroad. when they released the fianl details of the JK, i waited to see one in person and actually drive it. i'm glad i got the JK. the FJ was still #2 on my list.

i'm hoping to convince the wife that her next car is going to be a Challenger SRT-8... but i doubt i can convince her.

yea... i tend to be drawn to the vehicles that others dont like. the 78 had the 258 in it. the 72 was a land rocket. my brother destroyed it, though. in the same line of thought, was the Rampage. its sort of a bastard vehicle. noone makes anything for it. it would bolt to the front half of a Dodge Omni 0-24, though... it would fit fine since thats what it was designed off of. i think the only car i've ever had i was happy to see go was the Corrola. We only had it a year.... and not really a problem out of it. i hated it though.

there's a guy here in town that has an old Gremlin sitting behind his house. i keep trying to convince myself to see if they want to let go if it... but i'm essentially broke right now, so there isn't much I could offer em for it except cleaning that spot out of their yard.  >

the '72 i had ate up a 289 Mustang. ofcourse it helped that the driver thought he was picking on a 6 cylinder. that was a super fast car. mostly pre-emissions, so it was pretty decent. I'd like to have something like it again. i have an eye for the obscure.
