99.9% of AR stocks are adjustable. If the barrel is marked 5.56 it will shoot both calibers. Only barrels marked .223 are .223 only. Still no need for 18" barrel. Upgraded trigger just gives a smooth and lighter pull. If your not an avid shooter you probably won't notice the difference. And on a semi auto you have to be very careful with to light of a trigger. You can send double taps down range when you don't want to. Can be very dangerous

Here is a video. Don't get fixed on the prices because AR builds have thousands of varieties and cost can stay mild to wild

Kent, the best way to explain the 5.56mm/.223 is to think .357mag and .38 spl. The chamber pressure for the 5.56 is between 55,000 and 60,000 psi where the .223 is around 45,000 psi. You can fire the .223 and 5.56 out of the 5.56 chamber while it would be unsafe to shoot the 5.56 out of the .223 chamber.

I am a certified armorer on the M16/AR15 rifles as well as a licensed manufacture. I haven't been building many since I came back from asscrapistan 2 years ago but if you are local to the Woodstock/Canton area I would love to sit down with you and teach you how to put them together. Two to three hours and you can know most of the basics of the rifle, including how to handle most field repairs if something were to happen.

The lowers can be assembled with basic tools, most of which you probably have in your Jeeps tool kit. It's the uppers that really require the special tools.
I would love to take you up on your offer to sit down and put one together.  I'm in Alpharetta and am not that far from you.

Funny stuff.

It bothered me that he didn't really smoke the cigar the entire time, unless you consider the final puff into the camera to be smoking.

I doubt 300.   but 200-250 possible as i love to shoot long distance targets.

I wont make it to xmas party ride with the daughter getting married in may, funds and time are kind of taken from me (via wife) to focus on my daughter ..

I'll shoot my 16" rifles at 300 yards quite often.
